Rules Of Fairways N Greens

This is a totally free site. There are no weekly, monthly, or yearly dues to be a member of Fairways N Greens Offline Tour (FNG). We are sponsored by the WPSA which is a long time supporter of Links Golf. The WPSA is not being paid by any member and or board members of this site. This is a family site, which means lets keep it clean. We are simply hear to have fun and to compete against eachother in a game that we all enjoy. The tournaments scheduled will pay no monies to the winner(s).  This is a handicap tour.  So you will be matched with players of the same strength.  Mod 1.05 is allowed.  We are a pretty laid back crew, and will work with anyone on just about anything.  I have noticed on other Links related golf tours that some members will play for a couple weeks, or months and then drop out with no notice to the sites elected officers. This is really a huge task to delete and update pages. We are looking for dedicated players of the game. If for some reason you cannot play an upcoming event, even for 2 weeks. PLEASE let us know. Send us an email, and there will be no problems. We understand that there is a REAL LIFE to our members, and some things cannot be put aside.

Using the FNG player that you created and used in your Qualifying Rounds, you will play one Event per week which will consist of one 18 hole RECORDED and VERIFIED round of golf. Conditions will be posted in advance to allow ample time for you to participate in each Event.

The next section is to keep everyone honest....Lets face it!

WE ARE NOT ALL PRIESTS!  AND EVEN THEY ARE NOT PERFECT.

For each weekly Event, you Send your Players Pin file , Click on SUBMIT SCORES Club House Menu. There you must indicate your Player ID Number, your Handle, the Event No., Attach the file into the email being sent in.  Please refer to the Q School Page for more details.

Reporting Scores

When the SEND RESULTS screen appears, you add the players name in the box provided. Click 'Save' just in case the Email fails to reach the Tourney Director or Links crashes during the sending process. Click 'Send' and an Email will appear. Everything will be preset apart from any additional text files that the tourney requires. These will be specified separately if needed. You can attach the files by clicking on the 'Attach' button and adding them from your main Links 2003 directory. Click 'Send' and then you'll be sent back to the 'Send Results?' screen. Click close and you are done.

Verify Games

After the round is finished offline, if the automatic email tourney reply option doesn’t work (aol is one case in point), then you must remember to verify the round and save the file calling it say FNG_fleming1 for the first round as an example inserting your name. This option is available from the final scorecard that pops up automatically when you finish the round. The file should be immediately emailed as an attachment to the score file, as outlined above. Missing files will mean disqualification from that event or a 2 shot penalty if I can't check the conditions played. Please make sure it is clear from the file name which round is which using 1, 2, 3 or 4 at the end of the narrative and make sure your name and the round score is on every email. Rounds will be set up to be recorded, but there is no need to send these in every time.

Everyone MUST use the same version of LSLINKS as they qualified on for each event during the year. All events are played at the  PRO, CHAMP or ELITE level; however once you start at either  PRO, CHAMP or ELITE, you must continue with the playing ability for the entire length of the playing year. ALL events will be played from the BACK TEES, but the course and conditions will change from event to event. Check and double-check the condition settings before you begin a round. The schedule posted contains the filename and size of that file UNZIPPED so you can be sure you are using the correct course. Failure to play with the proper settings will disqualify you from the event.

All Swing types are accepted.  ALL EXCEPT FOR EASY SWING, once you start with a certain swing type you MUST keep that swing type for the season.  When you download the LTS file it will say any swing type, but since we cannot exclude Easy Swing type, you will have to pick which swing type that you use.  Anyone caught using the Easy swing will be banned from FNG.

Gimmies are not allowed and chipping on the green is not allowed unless a hazard or fairway is between the lie of the ball and the pin. Putting assistant is NOT allowed. Should we discover you are using the putting assistant, you will be banned from FNG. breakline indicator is ok to use.

Your FNG player cannot be used for ANY PURPOSE other than recording your rounds of golf to be sent in to FNG. Any discrepancies will be addressed by the Tour Directors.

Tournament Events will run from Midnight Central Time Zone on Sunday until Midnight Central Time Zone on the following Saturday. You MUST submit your scores . Results will be posted at some point during the day on Sunday. In case of a tie the, closest to the pin on the first hole in regulation will be declared the WINNER and that person's name will be entered into the TROPHY ROOM but all who tied will receive the first place prize. .

YOUR HANDICAP:

This will be calculated by adopting the PGA handicap system. With a few changes. Instead of 5 rounds, we will only use 3 rounds. I know that this system isnt perfect, but we are here for fun first and formost.

HANDICAP:

The Board of Directors reserve the right to modify the handicap system, but no modifications will take place without email notification to the players.
